Night of the living ...Mother!

Hugo:
Hugo was hanging out with Voltaire, they were at a book/game/music store. Hugo was checking out records, while Voltaire was checking out books. Hugo actually enjoyed collecting vinyl records, he always thought they sounded better then cd or mp3 music. He wasn't looking for any artist in particular, just for maybe an album he heard before that he didn't own in vinyl.  While looking he notice a pretty woman whom also seem to have an interest in vinyl. She was checking out a few Bowie records, Hugo was abit of a Bowie fan himself, so he slowly made his way closer to her.

He would look at the album she was checking out "Oh thats...thats a pretty good album there." he spoke up. The woman looks over at him  "Oh really? I was checking it out for my boyfriend, he loves classic rock." Hugo heart sank, but he should have known. "Oh well if he does like classic rock, then yeah...I uh say he would enjoy this album. Or if he likes more of the rock n roll type, you can always go with Led Zeppelin or Kiss, depending on what he likes the most." he didn't see a reason not to be nice though. The woman really was grateful for Hugo help and thanked him as she walked off with a few records.

Hugo sigh a little, only to feel Voltaire patting his shoulder "Don't let it get to you, atleast you tried. Who would have known she had a boyfriend. Plus you were still nice enough to help her, that leaves an impression." Hugo gave Voltaire an odd look. "Well thats .....comforting. I leave a impression of 'oh look the lovely schmuck who was helpful.' yeah thats a great feeling." Voltaire stared at Hugo "Actually I was thinking, if she had a single friend then she remember how nice you were and maybe if she ran into you again might set you up." Voltaire walked off to the register to buy a few books he picked up. Hugo following behind him "Yeah like that would happen." Voltaire shook his head "Not with that attitude it won't." Hugo gave a small sigh and when Voltaire went to pay for the books, he investigate them. "Paranormal type books? V I didn't think you believed in that kind of stuff." Voltaire grabbed his new books and shrugged "Theres a lot of things that are actually true that most don't believe. Also not all of these are paranormal, some are some interesting occult books. I found a few of them amusing for a good read."

Voltaire:
The two walk back to the apartment, Voltaire planned to read all day. Hugo however was probably going to play video games, sure that Voltaire would complain about the noise. They walked up the steps, Voltaire figure the steps was better for exercise for them. Hugo wasn't too keen on this, but decided he didn't want to argue with Voltaire today. Once they reached their apartment and entered, they found it occupied? Voltaire look to see an older woman going through their cabinets "Um excuse you?" Voltaire spoke up, Hugo came in and saw the woman. When she turned around Hugo responded "Mom?" Voltaire raised a brow "Mom?" looking to Hugo confused. The woman looked confused at Voltaire and then look to Hugo "I thought I come check up on you, since you stop calling me. Your life is not that busy that you can't call your mother." she lecture "And who is this? Are you gay now?" Voltaire just blinked and Hugo reacted quick "WHAT NO!...V...V is just my roommate."

Hugo mom raised a brow "So you have a roommate now, see you don't call and tell me these things. It's like you are trying to give me a heart attack." Hugo sighed "No mom its not like that, I've just been busy with school and stuff." Hugo mom pouted "I see...too busy to give your own mother a call to let her know you are ok." Voltaire spoke up "Well you could have text her atleast." Hugo mom nods in agreement "Your roommate is right, could have even left a simple text." Hugo sighed, now Voltaire was joining in with his mom. Just what he need or wanted, two people to dictate his life. Voltaire turn to Hugo mom "Well seems I know who you are, but I haven't introduce myself. I am Voltaire, although I thought me and Hugo were friends then just roommates." Hugo mom look to Voltaire "Don't take it personal, he always been bad around people. I tell him to relax and that its not a bad thing to have friends." Voltaire nod. "I agree I tell him similar, such as he should be more confident and sure of himself." Hugo mom smiled "I been saying that his whole life. So good to find out he has a good friend around."

Hugo mom looked around "I did think it was odd, that the place was clean for once and there was full cabinets." Voltaire gave a small nod "Well I don't like living in messes and prefer to have food and such on hand should I want to cook. Hugo however I think rather get fast food, rather than cook a healthy meal." Hugo have a flat stare at Voltaire "Well fast food is cheaper and half the time I didn't have time to cook."  Hugo mom  watch the two "Well atleast someone here cares. Who knows maybe you'll rub off on hugo." Voltaire just smirked, Hugo rolled his eyes "Mom its nice you visit, but why are you here?"
Hugo mom huffed "What a mother can't see her own child? As I said you haven't been calling so I was worried. I thought I come visit, especially since your father had some business in New York. Also we wanted to invite you to have dinner. You can bring your friend as well, he seems nice company." Hugo sighed "Ok although I don't know if V wants to come, I mean I am sure he has a stuff he has to do." Voltaire smiled wide "Actually my schedule is clear. I would love to have dinner with you and your husband." Hugo paled some, but maybe Voltaire would make the night better. His parents can focus on him instead of on Hugo life, like they always did.
